LOTF book Vs. LOTF movie

There are three main differences between Harry Hook’s 1990 movie Lord of the Flies, and the book written by William Golding. The three main reasons where that the pilot never really dies, the dead parachutist that appeared in the book never showed up in the movie and the unnamed littlelun that died in the book never died in the movie.

In William Golding’s novel, the pilot dies in the process of crashing into the island. In Harry Hook’s movie, the pilot survives the crash, is deeply injured and goes into a cave. This is significant because William Golding did not put the pilot on the island because if there would have been an adult, there would be more order. But what Harry Hook is trying to say is that an adult would make do no difference in the kids saveragy.

In the book, there was a dead parachutist that scared off Sam and Eric thinking it was the beast. This scene gave the beast a greater significance in the story by making the kids really believe in the beast now. In the movie there was no dead parachutist therefore the beast was not that of a big part on the movie.

William Golding wrote that an unnamed littlelun died. In the movie, that littlelun did not die. Golding is trying to show the irresponsibility of the kids. That everyone is running wild doing whatever they want without paying attention in what is happening. But with the movie it was different, Harry Hook wanted to show that the kids are more mature and more civilized.
